If you are interested in local city government’s transparency and efficiency do not recall Council Member Elise Scafani. She has demonstrated consistent command of the need for information to be provided to the Council and the public.
Recalling her would be an exercise in wasting time and resources. Her seat on the council is due in the next regular election. Leave it to the citizens to decide who should occupy that seat at that time, not now.

Being elected to a city council in a small town during challenging times means that you will be called upon to make some difficult decisions. I appreciate this more than most as I was on the council for almost ten years.
I have no doubt that recent councils have made some hard choices using the information available to them with the best intentions. Reading about the issues being used by recall advocates tells me that this is an agenda that is using a lot of misinformation to justify their position.
Making some hard choices, even unpopular ones, does not mean that there is bad intent, incompetence, or illegality behind your fellow citizens on the council. Recalls happen every four years, they are called elections.
Vote no on the recall.
Elise really cares about the people around her, whether they be old timers or newbies to Blue Lake. She brings heart and intellect into making Blue Lake work, whether dealing with the complexities of City business or helping new friends find solutions to the high cost of housing here.
Considering that three out of five of our City Council members are new to the Council, I’m grateful for the experience Elise brings to the challenges the City is facing. I don’t believe that a duly elected city councilperson should be recalled for what appears to be political reasons.
Please keep Elise on our City Council by voting NO on the recall.
I will always admire her tenacity to seek out the truth and to strive for transparency in our community government. She stood strong for these values when she was the only one on the Council who seemed to care about these virtues.

When Elise Scafani ran for City Council in 2022, her platform was transparency of City business between City staff and City Council for the whole of Blue Lake. Over the past 3 1/2 years she has been steadfast in this effort with great resistance from former Council members, city staff and a vocal, single issue group of people.
No Recall - let this entire Council finish their dedicated work for ALL of Blue Lake!!

The years you have been the target of unwarranted bullying. These are the reasons why I stand with you today. I will continue to support your efforts to unite Blue Lake. I am so proud to call you council member and Mayor Pro Tem.
I met Elise Scafani in December of 2025. There are not very many people I have forged a friendship with in such a short time. As I observed her in council meetings I saw a person of integrity and compassion. I watched her stand up for what she believed were the best solutions for the citizens of Blue Lake. She always stayed the course and never compromised on what she believed was right. I watched her stand strong as the opposition tried to tear apart the council with the recall. Many people would have walked away but Elise did not. She stood strong.
She was elected to serve her community. She should have the opportunity to complete her term on the City Council. To disregard the outcome of an election for personal motives is not a reason to recall a Council Member and especially a person of integrity and compassion. Recalls should be for corruption or moral turpitude which is definitely not the case for Elise Scafani.
I am glad to call her my friend and admire the good work she has done for our community. We have some serious issues facing our city. We need Elise Scafani doing her best to help us solve the problems we are facing. Vote No on the recall and let the Council remain strong.

Elise is first and foremost a community member. She has been working for this town for a lot of years before and since she was elected. Her integrity, truth and honesty have shown that she is standing up for transparency.
Voting for Elise in 2022 was an easy option, this community needed a voice and that is what she gave. A chance to be heard and listened to.
Elise’s career as a nurse, her commitment as a community member, her honesty as a council member and her unconditional commitment to friendship are more than just Amazing, they are her power and her strength.
We as lifelong community members will stand with Elise Scafani and stand up for Truth, Honesty and Integrity.

I support Elise Scafani because she asks good questions to explore the full background of important topics. Elise seeks to obtain a full understanding of Blue Lake City business topics. Having a firm grasp of City activities is especially important for fiscal matters.
As a fiscal conservative, I am concerned about Blue Lake water and sewer rate increases. Past fiscal management has not been given full and fair consideration by all members of the Council. Our most recent budget has shown that historically poor decisions made about the bike park, health insurance coverage for employees, and adherence to sound fiscal policies has cost the residents and current City Council dearly.
City residents benefit from Elise Scafani’s sound judgement and sincere efforts to get complete information on where expenditures have gone or will be going within the budget.
Please vote NO on the Recall on January 6th.
